40" or 42" LED HDTV - in terms of performance and energy savings?
by Gerardo Ramirez
Please orientate me whether I should buy a 40" or a 42" LED HDTV energy saver? I am concerned about the power consumption of my TV but I'm not sure how much difference the size makes. Hi In terms of energy saving, I don't think you'll find much difference between a 40-inch and a 42-inch LED TV. If a low power consumption is an important factor for you, and it is for many people, then certainly an LED TV is a good choice. They are often right up there with the best that there is in terms of conserving power. However, I would think that a 2-inch difference would make little difference. Some manufacturers can be better than others, so that may be a better way to think of it. Check the specifications for the TV your are looking for and see how they compare. There's an interesting comparison of the cost of running various TVs at cnet. You may find that useful. Cnet TV power chart Hope that helps.
