New TV?

Hi Anonymous - whoever and wherever you are!

With that budget you can be looking at the higher end of the TV market.

I will assume you are from the UK as you quoted your price in pounds.

It's common for people who already have plasma TVs to stick with plasma - as they love the picture quality so much. So assuming you want another plasma (and are happy to stick with a 42 inch screen), then I would have a look at the Panasonic TX-P42V10 or the Panasonic TX-P42G10. At 50 inch you could look at the LG 50PS8000.

Take a look at the plasma tv guide for more information about plasma TVs.

However, if you're keen to jump ship to LCD/LED, then have a look at the Sony Bravia KDL40W5500 or the Samsung LE40B650.

Follow the links for more information about the best lcd tv, and to the the LED tv guide for a background on LED televisions.

Obviously you could go for a larger screen size than 40/42 - and you've got enough spare in your budget to consider that.

Does anyone else have a view on this?

All the best

Paul
