Connecting a cable system: 3D TV + 3D dvd + cable receiver + audio surround

I have ordered a 58" Samsung plasma 3D TV, 3D DVD (BD-C7900) with 2 HDMI 1.4 cables. I own a Pioneer svx 23(?)receiver with several 1.3 HDMI ports that will not transmit a 3D picture. I will be getting Bright House cable service.

I have been told that since my DVD has two 1.4 HDMI ports, I can get both a 3D picture and surround sound by using the two DVD HDMI ports with the Pioneer receiver and TV. What is the wiring diagram to achieve this? Include cable box,TV,DVD,Pioneer receiver.

Well, your basic connections will be similar to this:

Connecting AV receiver and HDTV

However, the difference is that you will have one extra HDMI connection. The second HDMI port on the DVD/Blu-ray will go directly into the TV. This is for sending the 3D picture directly to the TV (bypassing the receiver which doesn't support 3D signals). The cable TV picture can go from the Pioneer receiver as in the diagram.

You will need two HDMI ports on your TV to connect this way - but I'm guessing as it is a new model it will have at least two.

All the best.
