Denon AV 1909 Receiver HDMI connection

I have just bought an LG 42LE7900 TV and LG BD560 Blu-ray player. I'm going to hook up a Sky+ HD box. I currently have a Denon AV1909 receiver with 3 HDMI inputs and 1 monitor output.

Should I connect the Sky+ HD, Blu ray player directly to the TV for video or go via the receiver? Will I lose any quality of picture going via the receiver?

Hi

Connect the Sky + and Blu-ray to the receiver with HDMI - and then send one HDMI from the 'monitor' out to the TV. It won't affect the picture quality and you will have less cables going to the TV.

You should be aiming for something along these lines.

Ideally the receiver will be the hub for all your equipment.

By the way, also connect the Sky + via an optical audio cable into the receiver too, or you won't get 5.1 surround sound from the Sky box. It only sends stereo audio over HDMI.

Hope that helps.
