Does the Yamaha RX-V467 take analogue multichannel inputs?

I've Philips DVP-5106k DVD player, it has analogue multi-channel output at its back, can I connect them to the Yamaha RX-V467 AV receiver? Because at the back of AV receiver such input sockets are not seen. Pls help in detail.

My next question is, the Yamaha RX-V 467 does not upscale from analogue to 1080P - so is it worth buying? Or should I go for Yamaha RX-V567? Does it really matter?

Hi

No, you are right, the Yamaha RX-V467 doesn't have multichannel analog inputs. If you wanted to use the multichannel outputs from your DVD player then you would need to get the RX-V667, which does have multichannel analog inputs.

As for the upscaling/upconversion. Well, you may find some benefit from being able to input component from your DVD player and then outputting via HDMI to your TV. Assuming you have an HD TV, then I would probably prefer this feature. However, you will still get a decent picture of you stick with the component video from DVD player to TV, so it depends on if you are willing to pay a bit more for the higher spec Yamaha receiver.

All the best.
