Articulating Flat Screen TV Mounts Store
Welcome to our articulating flat screen TV mounts store.
An articulating wall mount allows much greater flexibility if you need to alter the position of your TV screen.
They come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, and each model can offer slightly different variations of movement. The names of these types of mounts can also vary, and often the name will reflect the type of movement you can get.
Therefore, you will come across tilt and swivel mounts, pivot mounts, simple articulating or fully articulating mounts. Go to our guides for articulating flat screen TV wall mounts and fully articulating TV mounting brackets for more detailed information.
If you need to see an introduction to the various types of wall mounts available, then check out our LCD and plasma TV wall mount guide.
Advantages of the Articulating Wall Mount
- allows the TV screen to be pulled away from the wall, and angled up or down or side to side, to suit your viewing position
- many models will allow the screen to be pushed back against the wall for a neater look when the TV is not in use - although some are more discrete than others
- for those models with a cantilever arm, it is much easier to install the TV screen in the corner of a room which can then be pulled out when required
- the ability to pull the screen away from the wall makes the installation of cables much easier than with mounts which fix the TV screen close to the wall
Disadvantages of the Articulating Wall Mount
- in general, the extra flexibility and more complex design of an articulating wall mount will make them more expensive than a fixed flat panel TV mount or simple tilt flat screen TV wall mounts
- except for the expensive fully articulating wall mounts which often push right back into the wall, most tilt and swivel or cantilever mounts are more bulky and less discrete than other types of mount
- the more complex design of articulating mounts can often make them heavier and more difficult to install than simpler, lighter models
TV Wall Mount Buyers Guide
Things to consider:
- Do you need to change the angle of your TV screen for different seating positions, or will a fixed position be enough?
- Consult your manual and check the weight of your TV - make sure the mount you buy will support this
- Many mounts will suggest a range of screen sizes - make sure it is suitable for your TV
- Check the VESA mounting standards the mount supports and make sure your TV will match
- The position of the screen in your room may affect the type of mount you need - high or low, open wall or corner?
