Getting TV signal through home cinema sound system

I have a Panasonic TV and have just purchased a Panasonic home cinema system. The home cinema plays DVD okay and the sound is great, but I cannot get the TV to play through the Home Cinema speakers.

Well, the solution lies in exactly how you are receiving your TV signal.

If you are using an aerial into the TV and using an internal tuner to receive broadcast TV, then your TV will need an audio OUTPUT. You connect this audio output into your Panasonic home cinema system - that is if it has the right connections to do this. Unfortunately many HDTVs don't have an audio output and so you may not be able to connect to your system in this way.

Alternatively, if you have an external cable TV box or some type of external TV receiver, then this should have audio outputs. You connect these to your home cinema system and then you will get your TV signal through the home cinema speakers.
