How to set up my nec m300x projector to my samsung htc450 cinema system and ps3
by shaun
I have bought a ps3, a home cinema system and a m300x projector for my sons Christmas present. I would like to know if someone could tell me what cables i will be needing and where to put them as i am quite new to all of this. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Hi Firstly, in my opinion, you would have made your life much easier if you had bought an AV receiver + speakers, rather than an all-in-one system like the Samsung HT-C450. Do you still have the receipt? :-) The problem you often have with all-in-one systems, is they sometimes have limited options for connecting other devices - like the PS3 in your case. What I would probably do, is connect an HDMI cable from the output on the PS3 to the input on the NEC. This will send the picture to the projector. I would then use the PS3 for playing DVDs and Blu-rays (and games of course) - and not bother using the built-in Samsung DVD player. You would then need an optical cable from the PS3 output to the input on the back of the Samsung. This will send audio from everything you play on the PS3 (games, DVDs and Blu-rays) to the surround sound speaker system. There are other ways of connecting your system up, but this would probably be the easiest. Just a quick tip. Always try to think about how you are gong to connect everything together before you buy any equipment, rather than after. It can help you to buy the best equipment and save you time and money. Hope that helps. Paul (Site Editor) Feel free to join in this discussion by adding your own comments below...
