Infinity Primus PC250 center speaker position

Can I put a center speaker (Infinity Primus pc250) and a Onkyo 708 Receiver side by side on the same shelf of my TV stand? There is a 2 inch space between them. Sorry if this is a dumb question I am new to this.

Hi

There is no such thing as a dumb question. Asking questions is the best way to learn something!

There's no technical reason you can't put the center speaker next to the AV receiver on the same shelf.

However, a center speaker usually sounds best directly in the middle of the TV screen (above or below). Having it to one side may sound slightly odd. It sounds more natural if peoples voices are coming from the middle of the screen.

However, having it slightly to one side may not be the end of the world so why not give it a try. If it sounds ok to you, then leave it there.

Positioning the center speaker can often be tricky due to a lack of space.

Hope that helps.
