No sound with component connection

I am trying to connect an ALBA DVD player to Samsung 32" LED through a component connector. I have a component cable (red, green, blue) and I get a good picture & no sound. I have swapped the audio around & still no sound.

It's not quite clear from your message, but are you just using the component cable to connect the DVD player to the TV?

If so, then the component cable (red, green, blue) is for picture only. It doesn't send audio.

However, you also mention you have swapped the audio around? Which audio connection is this? With a component video connection, you would usually have a separate analog audio connection (red and white RCA connectors). Is this what you are using?
