Sky HD & Blu Ray Connection to Denon S-101 home cinema system
by Trevor Panther
Just purchased a fantastic Samsung UE46c8000 tv and Samsung BDC6800 bluray player. I have connected the Sky+ HD box to a Denon S101 home cinema system via phono leads and the bluray to the home cinema via an optical cable. Hi The wiring you have done is fine for the hardware that you are using. The audio may appear out of sync as you have no centre speaker - this can sometimes help to 'tie' the sound to the screen. It may be that by using just a stereo left and right system that the audio appears 'removed' from the screen. Alternatively, it may be out of sync! In that case, check if the Sky Box menu has an audio delay option (I'm not sure). You may be able to use this to correct your sync issues. The Blu-ray player doesn't have lip sync delay options. Make sure you are playing the stereo mix of the soundtrack on the Blu-ray/DVD disc. If there isn't one, make sure 'downmixing mode' is set to 'normal stereo'. Many modern AV receivers have a built-in lip sync delay option. Can't find the manual for the Denon S-101 to check, but maybe this has an audio delay option in the audio menu somewhere? Hope that helps. Paul (Site Editor) Feel free to join in this discussion by adding your own comments below... |
