Which Yamaha receivers for 5.1 surround sound?
by Justin T
I've always used Yamaha amplifiers with my home stereo sound systems. Guess i just like the Yamaha sound. So if i switch to a 5.1 surround sound system, can someone recommend any Yamaha receivers? Nothing too expensive. Mid-range will do fine. Justin It's something that is often overlooked by many people, the sound of an amplifier or set of speakers. Many people will just look at the features and specifications of a unit and decide from there - but don't forget that different makes and models can have their own particular sound which you may love or hate. It's always good to try and demo equipment for yourself and see what it sounds like to your ears. If that's not possible, keep a look out for comments in reviews and forums for other peoples views on the sound. So, it's no bad thing to stick to a particular manufacturer if you've always liked the sound of their equipment. Regarding your question, maybe take a look at the Yamaha RX-V565BL Receiver The two models have similar specs in terms of power and standard inputs, but the RX-V665BL offers a Zone 2 output, an external unit providing 8 additional inputs and various extra audio processing features. As with any piece of equipment, don't just buy the most expensive unit and assume it must be 'better'. Have a look at the extra features and decide if you need them. All the best.
