Can I Replace the Speakers in an HTIB System?

Home Cinema Forum

I really want to use in-ceiling speakers for the rear satellite speakers, but the HTiB makers don’t encourage it. I know the impedance has to more or less match, but is there any other real problem with doing it or are they just trying to scare me? Ariel Comments for Can I Replace the Speakers

About SD Acoustics SD3R Monitors

Home Cinema Forum

I have just joined the forum and was hoping to get some info on SD Acoustics SD3R (circular ribbon tweeters). 1) Does anybody know where I can get spares if required? 2) One of the speakers has recently started to sound like a radio station off tune…… that is a hissy static noise at low

Alternative Subwoofer Amplifier?

Home Cinema Forum

I don’t have an amplified subwoofer. However, I have a nice (very nice) 18″ speaker enclosed in a cabinet specially designed for bass frequencies – one of the leftovers from the time I was a musician, a long time ago, when dinosaurs were walking freely across the land. Now, I have a 7.1 Pioneer (from

Wondering if anyone has come across a similar issue, I have a new Samsung 64D8000 (with ARC function on the HDMI 2 port) hooked directly via high-speed Mediabridge ultra series 2 HDMI cable (supports 3D and ARC) to a new Harman Kardon 3650 (thru the monitor out ARC HDMI port). My understanding is you can

Home Cinema Forum

I have my Blu-ray player connected to the TV with an HDMI cable, and the receiver is connected to the TV. Thanks to the ARC I can hear thru the receiver what I watch on the Blu-ray player. I was watching a DVD (with the Blu-ray player) the other day whose audio was in Dolby

AV Receiver Power Supply and Output

Home Cinema Forum

You get some AV receivers that put out 100 Watt x 7 and when you look at the back of the chassis it uses 290 watts on the AC side to get there. Some other makes are also 100-Watt x 7, but on the back of the Chassis, it says 720 Watt. More than double.

AV Receiver Sound Problems

My receiver just went out. Something internal causing just static? It is a Samsung that I just bought about a year ago from Circuit City as they were closing. Won’t make that mistake again as you are stuck with it. Anyway, this is the second surround unit I have owned and the main reason for

BD Player with Built-In Amplifier

Home Cinema Forum

I am looking for a 3D Blu-ray disc player integrated with an audio amplifier for 5.1 channels or 7.1 channels. I can see some models in SONY HT Systems which includes the speakers and I do not want them as I have some 500-watt speakers already. There are some models that play 3d Blu-ray discs

Why Is My Wireless-N Router so Slow?

modern graphic with the word Wi-Fi

So you’ve bought a new ‘super-fast’ 300 Mbps wireless-N router, and you are trying to stream high-definition video around your network. However, it all seems a little underwhelming.
